We have around 80 members with interests in all types of model engineering. Our society was formed in 1935 and caters for all aspects of the hobby and is affiliated to the Northern Association of Model Engineers. We have a clubhouse, ground level railway tracks and a roadway for traction engines located at Waltham Windmill in the village of Waltham, 4 miles from the centre of Grimsby.
Our meetings take place at 7.30pm on the third Tuesday evening of each month throughout the year in our clubhouse, Hartley Lodge, at the Waltham Windmill site. We usually operate rides for the public on Sundays between Easter and the end of September, weather permitting.
This afternoon received a phone call from the bbmf, unfortunately the Lancaster has technical issues and requires an engine change despite their best efforts this will not be completed before Sunday so unfortunately no flypast. THE hurricane will be diverted to carry out some of the Lancasters duties. However the spitfire will still be carrying out a flypast at 1625 on Sunday 28th August. We sincerely hope you all understand and hope you still come and visit us.
